The Handcuff Game
It's the 2-player mode where you and a partner are tethered together for the whole round. If your partner goes down or leaves, you go with them — so positioning and teamwork matter more than solo skill.
It unlocks automatically once you hit Level 8. After that it shows up as its own game mode on the main menu — it's never mixed into regular matchmaking.
This is a known bug caused by the old server code — it's what Recode Part 2 is meant to fix. The tether can look broken under lag even though it's still connected correctly, so it's a visual bug, not a gameplay one.
Yes — tether range, shared damage, and revive time are all being adjusted in Part 2. We're holding these until they can ship together with the fix, instead of patching balance on top of a broken connection.
Why Recode keeps getting delayed
Part 1 took longer than planned because we found data issues mid-migration and fixed them properly instead of rushing. Since Parts 2–4 all depend on that new backend, delaying Part 1 pushed everything after it too.
Yes. Part 1 is already live for everyone, and Part 3 is in testing right now. Nothing about the delays means the project got dropped — the status box above is our real progress, not a rounded-up version.
No — everything carries over. The Part 1 migration was built around zero data loss, which is a big reason it took extra time. We tested it repeatedly before running it on live accounts.
We're not giving a hard date after missing a few already. Part 3 is next and is currently in testing — we'll announce it once it passes internal checks rather than promise a window early.
One Year Celebration
Three things are locked in: a free anniversary item set for anyone who logs in during the event, a limited-time Handcuff Game variant with different rules, and a daily login reward track for the whole event.
The event's reward tracking runs on the new backend from Part 3, so it can't launch cleanly until that's stable. We'd rather delay the event than run it on infrastructure we don't trust yet.
Realistically, yes — it'll likely land alongside Part 3/4 rather than on the exact anniversary date. We'd rather say that now than repeat what happened with earlier Recode announcements.
Event length, whether the limited mode stays afterward, and any community-vote reward are all still being discussed. We'd rather leave these open than lock in details we might have to change.
What we can reveal now
Part 3's anti-cheat update includes a reworked report system, moving from a fully manual review queue to a hybrid one. It wasn't mentioned earlier because it wasn't finalized until recently.
Yes — there's a possible Part 5 being planned for after the celebration that we're not detailing yet, since it could still change depending on how Parts 3 and 4 go.
Updates go in the Roblox game's news panel and here at the same time — nowhere else is official. If you see a leak or date that isn't listed here, treat it as unconfirmed.
