The Employee Driver Program (EDP) is designed to make commuting easier for our team members. Through our employee app, eligible employees can request a ride to one of our office locations at no cost. Once a request is made, an approved Employee Driver will be assigned to safely transport the employee to their destination.
This benefit is available regardless of employment status. Whether you are a full-time employee, part-time employee, seasonal employee, or part of our Summer or High School employment programs, you can use EDP whenever eligible transportation is available.
Every eligible employee may request rides through EDP free of charge. There are no transportation fees paid by employees using the service.
Who Can Become an Employee Driver?
Employee Drivers play an important role in helping coworkers travel safely. To maintain a safe and professional transportation program, all drivers must meet our eligibility requirements.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Hold a valid full driver's licence.
- Successfully complete the company's security screening process.
- Have no criminal record, or have maintained a clean record for at least two years following any previous offence, subject to company review and applicable laws.
- Maintain a drug-free and smoke-free working environment while participating in the program.
- Follow all company driving, safety, and vehicle policies.
Company Vehicles
Employee Drivers will be provided with a company vehicle for use while performing EDP transportation services.
Drivers cannot request or choose a specific vehicle. Vehicle assignments are based on operational requirements and availability. However, every vehicle selected for the program is intended to be reliable, well maintained, and equipped with modern safety features.
Driver Responsibilities
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean and in good condition.
- Drive safely and obey all traffic laws.
- Immediately report accidents, damage, or mechanical concerns.
- Pay for fuel used while operating the assigned vehicle.
- Be financially responsible for damage as outlined in company policy and applicable agreements.
- Treat passengers professionally and respectfully.
- Arrive on time for scheduled pickups whenever possible.
Vehicle misuse, unsafe driving, failing eligibility requirements, or violating company transportation policies may result in removal from the Employee Driver Program and may lead to additional disciplinary action where appropriate.
Employee Perks
Employee Drivers continue to receive all of the standard benefits and perks available to employees. Participation in EDP does not reduce or replace existing employee benefits—it is simply another opportunity for employees who wish to assist their coworkers while supporting our workplace community.
Our Goal
The Employee Driver Program exists to make commuting easier, improve accessibility to our offices, reduce transportation barriers, and create a more connected workplace. By offering free rides to employees and providing company vehicles for approved drivers, we hope to create a safer, more convenient commuting experience for everyone.
Employees are not prohibited from legally smoking or consuming lawful substances during their personal time. However, smoking, vaping, or using any drugs or intoxicating substances is strictly prohibited while operating or riding in an EDP vehicle. Drivers must never operate a vehicle while impaired by alcohol, drugs, or any other substance that could affect their ability to drive safely. All EDP vehicles must remain clean, smoke-free, and safe for every employee.
EDP Vehicle Fleet
The Employee Driver Program (EDP) operates a fleet of reliable, modern company vehicles selected with safety, comfort, and dependability in mind. Every vehicle is maintained according to manufacturer recommendations and undergoes regular inspections to help ensure a safe driving experience for both drivers and passengers.
To maintain a high standard of reliability, EDP vehicles are sourced only from trusted automotive manufacturers, including:
- Mazda
- Toyota
- Volvo
- Honda
Vehicle Types
When requesting or accepting trips through the EDP app, drivers may choose from available vehicles depending on availability.
- Single: A standard sedan or compact SUV designed for individual transportation and smaller trips.

Failure to comply with these passenger rules may result in the trip being ended, temporary suspension of EDP privileges, or additional disciplinary action in accordance with company policies.
Hours of Operation
The Employee Driver Program operates daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. These extended hours are intended to support employees who begin work early, finish late, or require transportation outside of standard office hours.
In exceptional circumstances, such as approved overtime or other company-authorized late work, transportation outside normal operating hours may be available with management approval and subject to driver availability.
Weather & Seasonal Considerations
EDP trips continue to run in most weather conditions, but driver safety always comes first. During severe weather, such as heavy snow, ice, or storm warnings, ride availability may be temporarily reduced or delayed while road conditions are assessed.
- Drivers may adjust routes or timing to avoid unsafe roads.
- Employees will be notified through the app if a delay or cancellation occurs.
- Winter-ready vehicles are prioritized for the fleet during colder months where available.
Driver Compensation
Employees participating as approved EDP Drivers are compensated on an hourly basis. Drivers are paid for approved working hours in accordance with company payroll policies and applicable employment laws.
Drivers are expected to accurately record their working hours through the company's timekeeping system. Overtime, where applicable, must be approved in advance by management unless otherwise required by company policy.
If you have questions regarding your hourly wage, timesheets, payroll, or compensation, please speak with your manager, supervisor, or Human Resources.
Passenger Information
If you have questions about using the Employee Driver Program, ride eligibility, or scheduling, please contact your manager or supervisor. They can assist you or direct you to the appropriate department for further support.
Late Arrival Protection
If an employee arrives late due to an EDP delay that is outside of their control, the employee will not be held responsible for the delay, provided they followed EDP procedures and communicated with their manager as soon as reasonably possible.
Employment Review & Investigations
If you believe disciplinary action or termination was unfair or resulted from circumstances related to the Employee Driver Program, you may request a formal review by senior management or Human Resources.
The company will conduct a fair and impartial investigation, review all available information, and determine whether company policies were followed. If it is determined that disciplinary action or termination was unreasonable or incorrect, appropriate corrective action may be taken, which may include reinstatement of employment where appropriate.
We are committed to treating every employee fairly and ensuring that concerns are reviewed objectively through a thorough investigation process.
